Big Cottonwood Canyon

Big Cottonwood Canyon is a canyon in the Wasatch Range 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Salt Lake City in the U.S. territory of Utah. The 15-mile (24 km)- long canyon gives climbing, biking, picnicking, shake climbing, outdoors and angling in the late spring. Its two ski resorts, Brighton and Solitude, are mainstream among skiers and snowboarders. The canyon is gotten to by The Big Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway (SR-190), which runs its length to Guardsman Pass at the highest point of the canyon, enabling travel to Park City in the late spring months.

Sentry Pass is shut throughout the winter months and is a well known snowshoe climbing goal for some Utahns.

Climbing to the canyon's mountain lakes is well known, with numerous trails prompting lakes, for example, Mary, Martha and Katherine. The canyon's most famous climbing trail prompts Lakes Blanche, Florence and Lillian. The trail is 3.1 miles (5.0 km) long and a strenuous climb. Since the canyon was framed by Big Cottonwood Creek, the V-molded canyon has numerous amazing rock structures.
